The world is changing, so I updated my Ko-Fi page today:
POST-PANDEMIC UPDATE: This isn’t really about iced coffee. We need deeper connections in this new world. I don’t know what this should be about, but we’ll figure it out together.
Maybe it’s just the people I talk to, but it seems like everyone has lost patience with trivialities:
Music professors are getting new jobs as computer programmers.
Yoga teachers who used to listen to podcasts about meditation have gotten university degrees and are trying to make money.
Amateur pianists have quit playing piano and are spending time with their families.
Coffee just seems frivolous nowadays. And that’s good because I always hated writing about frivolous things.
But, what does that mean about my livestreams where I play Mario and talk about mindful video gaming? Are they frivolous?
They seemed cool at the time.
But, they won’t make you more money, they won’t improve your marriage, nor will they cure your cancer.
Will they?
I mean, yeah, they will, if you take them seriously. They’re a practical application of ancient wisdom on becoming a high-performing human being.
But, how do I make that relatable?
Dunno. That’s their problem lol.
My job is only to show up and be real.

P.S. I’m pleased to announce the michaelkorman.com domain is back online. Thank you to everyone who contributed yesterday. Your support means a lot. If you’d like to give more, here’s the link to my Ko-Fi again.
P.P.S. If you’d like to give even MORE, you can pledge a subscription to my Substack. I’m not sure yet what benefits paid subscribers will get (ignore whatever it says there—those are just the defaults), but we’ll cross that bridge when we get there.
